Journalist Waheed Murad Abducted from His Home in Islamabad
Islamabad: Renowned journalist Waheed Murad has been forcibly abducted from his home by unidentified individuals. According to reports, men dressed in black arrived at his residence and demanded that Waheed Murad come outside, claiming he was an Afghan citizen. When Murad slid his identification card under the door to prove his identity, the armed men forcibly entered the house, searched the premises, and took him away.
Journalist Azaz Syed reported that Murad’s wife informed him about the incident over the phone. The abductors also took Murad’s mobile phone with them.
Waheed Murad has been outspoken against rising unrest, terrorism, and human rights violations in the country. His abduction has sparked serious concerns among journalist circles, with many demanding his immediate release.
