FIA Launches Investigation Against Actress Nadia Hussain Under PECA

March 15, 2025 – Karachi: Renowned actress and model Nadia Hussain is under investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for allegedly making false accusations on social media. The inquiry falls under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) after she claimed an FIA official demanded a bribe for her husband’s release.
According to reports, Hussain received a WhatsApp call from someone posing as an FIA officer, demanding Rs30 million in exchange for bail. Instead of reporting the incident to the Cyber Crime Reporting Centre, she took to social media, accusing the agency of misconduct. The FIA later clarified that the caller was a fraudster with no ties to the agency.
This investigation follows the arrest of her husband, Atif Mohammad Khan, the former CEO of Al-Falah Securities, who faces charges of financial fraud amounting to Rs540 million. Authorities have stated that any misuse of digital platforms for defamation will be dealt with under the law.
As the case unfolds, the entertainment industry is closely watching the developments surrounding Nadia Hussain’s legal battle.
