Imran Khan Enjoying Full Facilities at Adiala Jail, Says Information Minister

ISLAMABAD – Federal Information Minister Ataullah Tarar has dismissed allegations that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is being mistreated or denied facilities at Adiala Jail. Addressing a press conference, Tarar described Khan’s current detention conditions as better than those of an average middle-class citizen, even referring to his prison cell as a “presidential suite.”

According to the minister, the former prime minister is being held under B-Class jail standards, which come with several privileges. These include access to a personal kitchen where meals are prepared by a designated cook, an exercise machine, reading material, a television, and a designated space for daily walks.

Jail authorities have also confirmed that Khan undergoes medical checkups three times a day and is in stable health. They rejected PTI’s claims of inadequate treatment, labeling them as baseless and politically motivated.

Furthermore, Tarar emphasized that Imran Khan is allowed frequent visits from family members, legal representatives, and party leaders — more than what is typically permitted under jail regulations.

In light of these statements, both government and prison officials maintain that all legal rights and comforts due to Imran Khan under the jail manual are being fully honored.
