KP Chief Minister Faces Non-Bailable Arrest Warrants in May 9 Case

Rawalpindi – April 2025:
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, is now officially wanted by law. A court dealing with terrorism-related offenses in Rawalpindi has directed police to arrest him and bring him to court in connection with a violent incident that took place during countrywide protests in May 2023.
These protests broke out after the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and led to clashes, property damage, and attacks on public institutions. Authorities say Gandapur, along with other members of his political party, played a role in those events.
The court has also summoned several other PTI leaders for skipping earlier hearings, making it clear that legal excuses will no longer be tolerated. Law enforcement has been given a clear mandate: produce the accused, or face consequences.
This development is part of a wider crackdown on those linked to the May 9 protests, which have been described by government officials as a serious breach of law and order.
