KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur Announces Rs30 Billion Security Investment

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has unveiled a major security overhaul with an investment exceeding Rs30 billion to strengthen the province’s security infrastructure.

Speaking at a press conference, Gandapur revealed that the funds will be used to acquire modern weapons, vehicles, and equipment to combat rising terrorism, particularly in tribal districts. The plan includes procuring 105 bulletproof vehicles worth Rs321 million and 4,000 submachine guns (SMGs), alongside recruiting over 6,000 security personnel.

The CM also highlighted police department reforms and the advanced training of 1,200 elite force personnel. Additionally, Rs367 million has been allocated to support the families of police martyrs through financial aid, job placements, and housing benefits.

Gandapur criticized the federal government for its handling of security matters and warned of protests if the province doesn’t receive its fair share from the NFC Award.
