Madrassa Student Kidnapped in Karachi’s Manghopir Area

Karachi, March 7, 2025 – A 17-year-old madrassa student, identified as Abidullah, was kidnapped in the Umar Goth area of Manghopir on March 5, while he was on his way to offer prayers, according to police sources.
The abductors have demanded a ransom of Rs60 million from Abidullah’s family, increasing concerns about the rising incidents of kidnappings in the city. Following the complaint, an FIR has been registered, and the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) has taken over the investigation.
Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has instructed authorities to use modern technology and intelligence resources to ensure the student’s safe recovery.
This incident follows previous cases of child abductions in Karachi, raising alarms among residents about security lapses and the safety of children in the metropolis.
Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
