Pakistan Calls on UNSC to Curb Terrorist Access to Weapons in Afghanistan

Pakistan has urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to take immediate steps to prevent terrorist groups, including the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), from acquiring sophisticated weapons in Afghanistan.
In a formal statement, Pakistani representatives expressed serious concern over the growing threat posed by these groups, citing recent intelligence and security reports indicating an alarming rise in their access to advanced weaponry. Islamabad stressed that such developments not only endanger regional peace but also undermine global counterterrorism efforts.
Pakistan called on the international community, particularly the UNSC, to enforce stricter monitoring and control measures to stop the illegal flow of arms and ensure that Afghanistan is not used as a safe haven or supply route for militants.
The appeal reflects Pakistan’s broader concerns over cross-border terrorism and the need for collaborative international action to maintain regional stability.
