PTI Secures Release of 700 Jailed Workers During Ramadan, Says KP CM

Peshawar, March 27, 2025 – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced that the legal team of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has successfully facilitated the release of 700 imprisoned party workers during the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking about the ongoing efforts, Gandapur emphasized that PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, remain incarcerated despite not being convicted. He stressed that their honorable acquittal is crucial for the country’s political stability.

He further revealed that the party’s legal representatives have been securing bail for detained workers on a daily basis. So far, more than 2,000 PTI members from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Karachi, Balochistan, and Kashmir have been released. The chief minister assured that legal aid is being provided to all workers without discrimination.

Additionally, he disclosed that over Rs 220 million has been deposited as bonds for securing the release of detained individuals, with continued efforts to free more workers before Eid. On a recent occasion, release orders for 174 workers were processed for jails in Karachi and Jhelum.

This initiative reflects PTI’s commitment to supporting its members and addressing what the party perceives as unjust detentions.
