PTI’s Social Media Wing a Roadblock in Reconciliation with Establishment: Sanaullah

Islamabad – April 8, 2025:
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has raised concerns over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) aggressive social media presence, claiming it is a key obstacle in restoring relations between the party and the country’s powerful establishment.
In a recent statement, Sanaullah alleged that PTI continues to push propaganda through its online platforms, which not only hampers constructive political dialogue but also deepens mistrust. “Political differences should be addressed through talks and formal forums, not through online attacks that stir up hostility,” he said.
His remarks come amidst ongoing investigations into PTI’s digital activities, with a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) reportedly questioning several party members over content deemed hostile toward state institutions.
Government sources say PTI’s digital narrative is under scrutiny for allegedly spreading misinformation. However, the party leadership insists that its online voice is a reflection of public sentiment and part of legitimate political expression.
This growing rift underlines the complicated relationship between PTI and the establishment, with social media now playing a central role in shaping Pakistan’s political battleground.
