Punjab Introduces Digital Driving License: A Simple Guide to Get Yours Online

Faisalabad, April 8, 2025:
In a major digital leap, the Punjab government has launched an online system that lets licensed drivers download their e-driving license directly from home — no more waiting in long queues or worrying about carrying your physical card everywhere.

This digital license is now considered just as valid as the physical one and can be shown to traffic officers via your smartphone whenever needed.

How to Get Your E-License in Minutes:

  1. Visit the Official Portal:
Go to dlims.punjab.gov.pk — this is the official site of the Driving License Information Management System.
  2. Head to the E-License Section:
On the homepage, locate the “License Info” tab and select “E-License” from the dropdown menu.
  3. Enter Your Information:
Type your CNIC number (without dashes) and your date of birth in the given format.
  4. Verify You’re Human:
Tick the reCAPTCHA box (the one that says “I’m not a robot”).
  5. Download and Save:
Your digital license will be shown on the screen. Just download it in PDF format and keep it saved on your phone or cloud.

Why It’s Useful:

  • No More Card Panic: Forgot your wallet? No worries. Just show the digital version.
  • Scan-Ready: Police can scan the QR code on your e-license to verify instantly.
  • Safe and Printable: Need a hard copy? You can print it anytime.

This new facility is currently available to those who already have a valid license issued in Punjab. It’s part of the government’s broader push to make citizen services digital, fast, and paperless.

So if you’re licensed in Punjab — your digital version is just a few clicks away!
