Senate Unanimously Rejects India’s Allegations Linking Pakistan to Pahalgam Attack

Islamabad – April 25, 2025:
The Senate of Pakistan on Thursday unanimously adopted a resolution categorically rejecting India’s recent accusations that linked Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack in Indian-administered Kashmir.
The resolution, moved by members from across party lines, condemned the allegations as “baseless, politically motivated, and aimed at deflecting global attention” from India’s internal issues, particularly the ongoing human rights violations in the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Lawmakers expressed concern that India continues to use such incidents to malign Pakistan without providing any credible evidence. They also noted a recurring pattern of such claims being timed around Indian elections to stir nationalist sentiments and distract from domestic challenges.
The Senate reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace, regional stability, and its consistent stance against terrorism in all its forms. The resolution urged the international community to take notice of India’s attempts to spread misinformation and destabilize the region through false narratives.
The Foreign Office is also expected to issue a formal statement echoing the sentiments expressed by the Senate and to raise the matter through diplomatic channels.
